For a few years, I've been interested in Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT).
When we experience an emotional trauma, it can sometimes get blocked within our bodies & can make us feel quite ill.

EFT helps us release these bodies, allowing us to heal & get on with life.
This year, in July, I passed my EFT level 2.

All events this year have gone well, it's great to feel Bowen is becoming more recognised. I now need to promote EFT.

One more event to go, this Saturday, in East Preston, connected with Dizzy's - charity for Diabetes. Tasters will be available.

A New Year & New Opportunites

Bowen TechniquePosted by kim Mon, March 22, 2010 17:01:17

This year has started off so well.

An advert was put in a local Middleton-on-Sea magazine with excellent response.

Next month, I have an advert in a local Angmering magazine with plenty of editorial to explain the therapy. Later in June, there is a health fair in Rustington where I plan to do chats & tasters & then in July, I am doing a talk to a local group in Littlehampton.

So lots going on this year & I am noticing that many more people know about Bowen - which is great & I am very grateful to my clients for helping spread the word!

Bowen has also been accepted to join the CNHC - www.cnhc.org. This council will regulate the therapy and provide protection for the public - it is also supported by the NHS, so soon Bowen will become more recognised.

I am also getting involved in a new therapy called EFT - Emotional Freedom Technique to help people release emotional blockages.

All in all, an exciting year!!

Rugby League Sponsership

Bowen TechniquePosted by kim Thu, October 29, 2009 11:38:08

Bowen Therapists have been offered a great chance for some serious advertising on TV.

200 therapists have joined together to sponser an advert at the Rugby League Four Nations games. It's all set and visible at the Rugby grounds and we also have our own website, check it out -

www.bowen4me.com

It's great to Bowen getting national advertising and it will be interesting to see what response we get.

I have just treated a young lad who plays football twice a week and used to injure his hamstrings and back regularly. Bowen has helped and he now has treatment every three months. He finds he injures a lot less than he used to and after a Bowen, he recovers quickly and can get back to playing football.

New Clinic

Bowen TechniquePosted by kim Thu, August 06, 2009 11:33:44

The Summer Fete was a great success despite the British weather! We had 10 people take up the offer of a short treatment for £5. They all recieved a voucher for £5 off a full tretament. Everybody enjoyed it and it was a great practice run for us.

The Clinic is opening this afternoon and we have 6 clients booked in plus another 2 for next week. 3 for this week had a treatment at the fete and said how much better they felt. I think that's a good start. It will be very different to treating people individually, but we hope at £15 it will make treatments more affordable for those who are finding times hard.

We have done a lot of advertising, visiting many local shops and we have adverts coming out soon in some of the local magazines. It will interesting to see which works well. I'm hoping personal recommendations will be the best source of new clients.

New Clinic

Bowen TechniquePosted by kim Wed, July 08, 2009 17:42:09

Life is very busy at the moment as I am getting together with another Bowen therapist and we are opening a Bowen clinic.

Simply called The Bowen Therapy Clinic, treatments will be available in Jubilee Hall, Middleton-on-Sea, West Sussex. Every Thursdays, 1.30 - 5pm.

We will be able to treat up to 4 clients at any one time, all in one room. This allows us to keep the costs of treatment very low - only £15 - and will give everyone opportunity to try Bowen.

So lots of organizing and advertising being sorted.

We will be at the local summer fete July 26th, holding short taster sessions.

To contact us - Tel: 07979 492851 or

email: info@bowenrelief.co.uk

I'm so looking forward to starting this! Keep your fingers crossed for me. :)

Holidays and migraines

Bowen TechniquePosted by kim Wed, April 29, 2009 15:14:03
Just back from a weeks holiday in Sark, which is a lovely little island just off the coast of France. The Channel Islands are unique, still part of The British Isles but have their own laws and no taxation. Sark has no cars, only bicycles, horses and tractors, so it really is relaxing and almost everything shuts down on a Sunday - bliss!

www.sarkinfo.com

Before we went away, I was treating a young lady (C.) for migraines. When she had an attack, they could last 4-5 days, symptoms included nausea, head pain, aversion to light and pain in the eyes. Often C. would spend these days in bed.Triggers were - chocolate, cheese and/or hormones.
After her first treatment, C. felt a migraine come on at work the next day, she was physically sick but then felt the symptoms recede, so stayed at work. She continued to improve and was able to go out that evening with friends. A big improvement to previous attacks. Two more follow up treatments resultes in C. feeling very good, with no headachey feelings at all and had even indulged in some chocolate with no problems.
C. has taken on board how important it is to look after our bodies, so to help, she has reduced her coffee intake and increased how much water she drinks. C. hopes to start a family later this year and I look forward to giving Bowen to her during and after her pregnancy.

I am now treating her Dad who also suffers from migraines with an added back problems - let's hope I'm as successfull with him!

Asthma & Respiratory

Bowen TechniquePosted by kim Wed, March 25, 2009 17:42:44
Back from the 2 day course I did in Kent and I realise how much there is in the world of Bowen to learn!

It was an enjoyable 2 days and very informative. We also learnt about an emergency move which helps in acute cases of asthma, croup and anxiety. The diaphragm goes into spasm and this quick and easy move can release the spasm within minutes.

If you are interested in more information, look at the following website:

www.bowen-for-asthma.com

I shall make sure I teach this emergency move to everyone who will benefit from it.

There are good instructions and photos to show you how to do this move yourself and also instructions on how to do some Bowen moves to help children, suffering with asthma.

Bowen parties and referrals

Bowen TechniquePosted by kim Tue, March 17, 2009 16:11:48
Following on from our 'Bowen Home Party' - I think that I would be happy to do more as it's a good way to spread information about our therapy. The afternoon seemed to go well, we had 5 people attend and 4 of them had a taster treatment all of whom said they enjoyed it and could be interested in continuing - we shall see! No feed back yet! I would change a few things, like making sure the information we had was in front of everyone instead of on the sideboard and keep the tasters to a minimum of 20 minutes. It's all a learning curve.

I'm pleased to say that this month seems to be more productive. Jan and Feb were very quiet but March is certainly improving. I recently saw a young lady (L.), who came for 2 treatments. L. presented with neck pain and nausea. Following a basic treatment L. felt very tired and very uncomfortable. She slept for 3 hours that afternoon, got up, moved about and drank extra water like I asked her to. This helps the detox effect that Bowen can have on the body. The following week, L. reported feeling much better from the 2nd day and after a little extra work on her second visit, she will now go onto maintenance treatment. I was very pleased to get a phone call from a friend of hers today as a referral.

Later this week, I am attending a 2 day course specializing in Asthma and Respiratory conditions.
